The Story

About the Author
Pamela Black is a Canadian author who has spent a lifetime living in the quiet glow of stories. A devoted reader since childhood, she raised her five children in a home where books were woven into the rhythm of every day, and imagination was treated as something essential and nourishing.
Her journey into writing originally sparked from a deeply personal place: creating stories to honour her children’s unique passions, including a son whose fascination with dinosaurs opened up a whole world of wonder. What began as a way to connect with her family soon grew into a lifelong creative calling. Today, Pamela has dedicated herself to studying the craft of writing for young audiences, shaping stories that invite children to feel brave, seen, and inspired.
While children’s literature is her primary focus, Pamela’s love for the written word also extends to writing poetry for adults. Grounded in the belief that literacy and language are life-changing gifts, she strives to spark curiosity, reflection, and a love of discovery in readers of all ages.
